Age contingencies in wills are very common. Many testator’s wish to make gifts or leave a share of their estate to their beneficiaries’ subject to them having reached a certain age first. This is most often seen with gifts to the testator’s own children but does also extend to gifts to remoter issue and sometimes even to other beneficiaries altogether.
